Autumn Dryland Mushing

Service Description

Just because there's no snow doesn't mean you can't enjoy a dog sledding adventure! In the fall we use two side-by-sides to train and condition the team for mushing in the winter. You can book a one hour ride along as we take the team through fields and forests all along Snow Mountain Ranch's expansive 5,000 acre property. Maximum participant weight: 300lbs Capacity: We can accommodate one adult and one child (ages 5-10) in one side-by-side and one adult in our second side-by-side. If your party is larger than three people, we can swap out riders during the course of the hour. If your party is larger than six people, please contact us as you may need to purchase additional time to complete everyone's ride. Note: There are no buildings or restrooms at the Fall Training meeting area. The nearest restroom is about 1 mile away. What to wear: Because you are sitting the entirety of the ride, our Fall Training Rides can often feel colder than our sled rides in winter. We recommend a minimum of three layers: a moisture-wicking base layer, rated for low temperatures and low activity; at least one insulating mid layer (wool or other animal fiber is ideal, cotton should be avoided); and an insulating, wind and water proof outer layer. In addition you'll want thick wool socks, along with insulated and water proof boots, as well as thick gloves or mittens, scarves or neck gaiters and hats or balaclavas.
